A rural community hub combining grocery, café, library, postal and pharmacy services with elderly care and tourist amenities

or

Detail description

Meetingpoint Häradsbäck is a multifunctional rural community hub in Sweden, evolving from a grocery store into a café, restaurant, library branch, pharmacy, post office, and elderly care facility since 2018. It supports social sustainability by reducing isolation among seniors, offers food delivery and campervan parking for tourists, and relies on community volunteers and external funding. Despite its social and cultural impact, long-term economic sustainability remains a challenge due to pandemic-related setbacks and fluctuating engagement. The organisation enhances Häradsbäck’s viability as a place to live and visit.
