Circular Nutrients Field Trials in the UK: Biomass and Yield Outcomes

Enhancing biomass yield and nutrient efficiency through climate-smart farming and decision-support tools

or

Detail description

trans4num is testing circular fertiliser strategies in the UK to reduce waste and improve nutrient efficiency. The project assesses cropping systems' impact on annual calorific yield under extreme weather conditions, with early results showing significant effects. Future work includes expanding bio-based fertiliser use, integrating trial data into farmer decision tools, and engaging farmer networks through outreach and field demonstrations. These efforts aim to reduce synthetic nitrogen use, enhance nutrient efficiency, and support climate-smart farming through research-driven, practical solutions.
