Innovative Manure Treatment for Circular Farming

This document examines innovative organic manure treatment methods in animal husbandry to enhance feed quality within a circular farming system. It addresses the challenges of underutilized, cost-effective manure processing due to limited farmer awareness. The project provides farmers with a comprehensive manure management portfolio tailored to their operational constraints—such as manure volume, seasonality, space, and staffing—enabling informed choices. Treated manure becomes a nutrient-rich, weed-free fertilizer with improved spreadability and immediate crop availability. Benefits include enhanced animal health through better litter stability, reduced humidity and odour, and lower pathogen levels.
