Post-Harvest Mulching for Soil Sustainability in Lithuanian Agriculture

Post-harvest mulching for sustainable soil management in Lithuanian agriculture

or

Detail description

This project implements innovative post-harvest mulching technologies to enhance soil sustainability in Lithuanian agriculture. It focuses on stabilising soil properties, reducing nutrient leaching, improving moisture and heat regimes, and supporting carbon sequestration and reduced N2O emissions. The initiative promotes no-till practices, encourages mulching of plant residues, and aims to improve farm productivity and climate resilience. Targeted at farmers, consultants, and agricultural specialists, the project enhances knowledge of post-sowing period management, supports crop rotation planning, and advances soil health through science-based practices. Funded by the European Union and disseminated via EU-FarmBook, it contributes to national agricultural sustainability and innovation.
