Detail description

This project developed and demonstrated integrated pest management techniques using low-impact chemical methods in orchards and post-harvest fruit production. Funded by the European Commission, it focused on reducing chemical pesticide use through pheromone and kairomone-based methods in traditional orchards in Bistrița-Năsăud, Romania. The initiative supported four farms in adopting eco-friendly, innovative management systems to produce high-quality organic apples, pears, and plums with superior taste and aroma. Results included improved fruit quality, increased added value, and strengthened collaboration between farmers and the research institution. The project ran from 2021 to May 18, 2024.
