Local organic vegetables from Brandenburg 2017

This project, launched in 2017, addresses gaps in the regional value chain for organic vegetables and potatoes in Brandenburg, Germany. It focuses on strengthening agricultural expertise and advisory services for small-scale organic farmers. Through individual consultations, a comprehensive needs assessment identified key challenges in organic cultivation, post-harvest handling, business management, and market development. Based on findings, tailored training and advisory formats were developed, including structured workshops, peer-led group consultations (Field Schools), and a mentorship program supporting long-term capacity building. The initiative is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
