or

Detail description

This project develops and demonstrates an economically viable, ecologically sustainable model for pig and sow rearing in Brandenburg, focusing on innovative housing, on-farm feeding systems, and closed-loop nutrient management. It aims to reduce piglet mortality, support sow and piglet health, and provide practical management guidelines for farmers. The project includes a business plan, training, information events, and a webcamp for live monitoring of experimental units. Coordinated by LAB – Landwirtschaftliche Beratung der Agrarverbände Brandenburg GmbH, it ran from 13 June 2016 to 12 June 2021, with partners across Brandenburg and funding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
