Mitigating Emissions through Sustainable Grassland and Arable Management

Improve soil health and reduce emissions through sustainable farming practices

or

Detail description

Practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance soil health include crop diversification, reduced tillage, residue management, liming, and preserving grasslands. These measures sequester carbon, reduce N2O and CO2 emissions by 9–20 tons/ha annually, improve water retention, and lower nitrogen leaching. Support is available via CAP and Greening initiatives, with a GHG calculator tool from the Institute of Animal Husbandry in Balice, Poland.
