2021 MiMaBio trials in organic horticulture – Alpes Maritimes
Diversified organic horticulture trials in the Alpes Maritimes under the MiMaBio project
or
Detail description
The MiMaBio project's 2020 trials in the Alpes Maritimes evaluated diversified organic horticulture practices, including winter cover crops (bare soil, straw, green manure), irrigation systems, intercropping, and pest management. Green manure reduced weeds but lowered microbial activity and tomato vigor; farmers adopted plastic row covers and porous drip irrigation for efficiency. White clover outperformed serpulid in ground cover. LER analysis confirmed intercropping efficiency. Findings support sustainable organic farming in PACA.
