Innovation transfer for sustainable cereal farming in Spain's Guadalquivir and Duero plains
or
Detail description
Agrarian landscapes in Spain's cereal-growing regions result from long-term human interaction with agricultural systems. Modernisation has led to loss of traditional features like hedges, trees, and terraces, causing biodiversity decline, soil erosion, and pollution. This project promotes sustainable cereal farming through innovation, ecosystem service valuation, and landscape restoration in the Guadalquivir and Duero river plains. Supported by EU and national institutions, it aims to balance productivity with environmental and cultural sustainability.
