On-farm compost tea production for organic fruit systems
Innovations in sustainable soil management, post-harvest technology, and digital decision support for organic fruit systems
or
Detail description
Compost tea enhances soil fertility and water efficiency in Mediterranean organic fruit systems, supporting improved photosynthetic activity, nutrient balance, and fruit quality. The CLIMED-FRUIT project integrates on-farm composting, a Decision Support System (DSS) with Blueleaf sensor data, and BlowDevice® packaging to extend shelf life. Chitosan-based natural extracts reduced post-harvest rot in cherries by 68%. Outcomes shared via 39 weekly bulletins and pest management notebooks.
