Intercropping spring and winter cereals with peas under dry conditions in Serbia

or

Detail description

This study evaluates intercropping spring cereals—hull-less barley and oats—and winter cereals—triticale—with spring and winter peas under extreme drought conditions in Serbia. Field trials used autumn and spring seedbed preparation, with pea-to-cereal ratios of 70:30 (barley/oats) and 80:50 (triticale). Peas were sown at 4–5 cm depth and 20 cm spacing; cereals at 3–4 cm depth and 10 cm spacing. The research aims to improve sustainable cereal production by reducing reliance on inputs and mitigating stress-related yield losses in pea monocultures.
