Organic-biodynamic farm in Žiče promoting sustainable agriculture and education

or

Detail description

Katja Temnik, a former basketball player, transformed her mother’s biodynamic herb hobby into Majnika farm in Žiče, Slovenia—a thriving organic-biodynamic enterprise. The farm, now spanning six hectares, produces herbal salt, sprouts, herbal teas, and hydrolates, with 95% of raw materials sourced on-site. Driven by her athletic background and holistic worldview, Katja champions sustainable, socially inclusive farming, offering educational programs for schools and vulnerable groups. Her innovative approach has earned her national recognition, including the Prize for Innovative Young Women Farmers and the Agrobizin Prize. The farm exemplifies a successful shift from sport to regenerative agriculture, inspiring women in non-traditional farming roles.
