Copper nanoparticles for grapevine trunk disease control in Albariño vineyards

Sustainable copper nanoparticle application for grapevine trunk disease control in Galician vineyards

or

Detail description

Copper nanoparticles applied via trunk injection and foliar sprays to manage grapevine trunk diseases in a 26-year-old Albariño vineyard in Galicia, Spain, as part of the EU-funded Winetwork project. The practice uses 15 mg/l Cu NPs at bud break and veraison, with additional foliar treatments combining nanoparticles and a porcine blood-derived elicitor. Conducted in a 1,200 plants/ha planting with R110 and 196-17 CL rootstocks, the method aims to reduce copper usage while maintaining efficacy. Trials, expected to conclude in two years, are part of a sustainable viticulture initiative in the Rías Baixas region.
