Portable NIR Spectroscopy for Early Pregnancy Detection in Sheep Using Milk Samples

Non-invasive early pregnancy detection in sheep using portable NIR and V-NIR spectroscopy of milk

or

Detail description

GC4SHEEP promotes digitalization and innovation in the dairy sheep sector to improve reproduction and fertility through AI-driven data processing. This study validates near-infrared (NIR) and visible-NIR (V-NIR) spectroscopy for non-invasive pregnancy detection in sheep milk, achieving 74% accuracy using SNV-processed NIR data from samples collected 26 days post-insemination. The method enables early detection 35 days before ultrasound confirmation, offering a promising tool for precision sheep farming.
