Rapid Screening of Grapevine Cultivars for Eutypa Dieback Susceptibility

Rapid bioassay for screening grapevine cultivar susceptibility to eutypa dieback caused by Eutypa lata

or

Detail description

A rapid bioassay method to induce foliar symptoms of eutypa dieback in grapevine cultivars within eight months, enabling early diagnosis and assessment of host–pathogen interactions. The technique uses inoculation of Eutypa lata mycelium into rooted cuttings of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, providing a reliable tool for studying disease progression, pathogen virulence, and resistance traits in grapevines. This method supports improved management strategies and diagnostic development for this widespread and damaging disease.
