The BroilerNet project collects promising and successfully implemented Good Practices (GP) to meet sector challenges.
In this GP spent litter was stabilised, composted and pelleted and sold as a fertilizer through a farmer cooperative. This had several positive effects such as reduced nitrogen load, land requirement, microbial contamination and carbon footprint per kilo meat produced.
