Potassium deficiency in olive trees

Deficiency in potassium causes dehydration symptoms in olive trees, affecting leaves and fruits, especially in dry or calcareous soils

or

Detail description

Potassium deficiency in olive trees causes tissue dehydration, leading to apical and marginal chlorosis on mature leaves, which may progress to necrosis and leaf drop. Fruits show wrinkling due to dehydration. Common in dry farming and calcareous soils, symptoms can be mistaken for boron deficiency or Xyella infection. Excessive nitrogen reduces potassium uptake, worsening the condition.
