Biogas Plant Development on Dairy Farms

Converting dairy manure into renewable energy through anaerobic digestion reduces emissions, produces electricity and heat, and creates nutrient-rich fertiliser while supporting farm sustainability and income.

or

Detail description

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and converting dairy farm manure into renewable energy, biogas plants enhance manure management, produce electricity and heat, and generate nutrient-rich digestate for soil improvement. This sustainable solution lowers energy costs, supports circular agriculture, and provides additional income, provided digestate is managed properly. Key components include digesters, CHP units, and storage systems, with investment ranging from €610,000 to €2.42 million depending on scale and location.
