DIVERSIFOOD: Assessing and Enhancing Cultivated Plant Diversity in Europe

Assessing and enhancing the diversity of cultivated plants in Europe through agroecological practices and market valorisation

or

Detail description

DIVERSIFOOD enhances genetic diversity of cultivated plants in European agroecosystems through a multi-actor approach, supporting sustainable, agroecological food systems. The project promotes local plant varieties, including Andalusian purple carrots, via participatory breeding, market analysis, and policy recommendations. It strengthens food culture, economic viability of local chains, and resilience of food systems through research across the value chain—from genetic resources to commercialisation.
