MOVING Project – Sustainable greenhouse tomato value chain in Beydaghları

Greenhouse tomato value chains in Beydaghları, Turkey, are expanding rapidly, driving regional economic growth and improving livelihoods. However, uncontrolled expansion threatens natural resources, with climate change, drought, invasive species, and overuse of water and soil posing major risks. Sustainable management requires controlled development, efficient water use, input subsidies, and farmer cooperatives to enhance market access, reduce costs, and increase incomes. Training in modern techniques is essential for long-term resilience and environmental protection. The project supports policy frameworks for sustainable mountain value chains across 15 European countries.
