MOVING Project Story Map Tool for Science and Society

The MOVING H2020 project developed the Story Map Building and Visualising Tool (SMBVT), an open-source, online platform enabling users to create and share interactive, multimedia-rich story maps about territorial value chains in European mountain regions. Hosted on the MOVING portal’s Virtual Research Environment (VRE) and built on the D4Science e-infrastructure, SMBVT supports collaborative storytelling through a shared semantic knowledge base that interconnects narratives. The tool facilitates content creation and consumption across devices, integrating text, images, videos, and data to represent lived experiences, emotions, and local knowledge. Designed by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), the SMBVT enhances policy engagement and sustainability efforts in 23 mountain regions across 15 countries.
