MOVING Project: Beef Production in Šumava Mountains

MOVING project explores sustainable beef production and extensive cattle breeding in the Šumava mountains, Czech Republic, as a model for mountain region resilience. Focused on the Český Les area, it examines integrated value chains from farming to direct-to-consumer sales, highlighting challenges in full chain adoption. The project addresses climate change impacts, stakeholder collaboration among farmers, tourists, and the Šumava National Park, and identifies barriers to scaling sustainable practices. Led by Czech University of Life Sciences, it is funded under EU Horizon 2020 (grant No. 862739).
