A heat storage device using phase change materials

Thermal energy storage system using phase change materials for residential and industrial applications

or

Detail description

Energy storage system using phase change materials for efficient thermal energy storage in rural and small-scale applications, developed at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland. The device stores heat from various sources, including solar, wind, and electrical grids, using paraffin packets that melt at 45–65°C, enabling high-capacity, controlled thermal release. Suitable for domestic, agricultural, and industrial use, it enhances energy efficiency and supports rural bioeconomy initiatives. Heat capacity reaches 4.5 MJ per 1°C rise. Part of the BRANCHES H2020 project promoting sustainable biomass and energy innovation.
