Soil Erosion Calculator for Farmers – Czech Agricultural Strategy 2030

Supports soil protection and sustainable farming through web-based erosion assessment tool

or

Detail description

The Czech agricultural strategy up to 2030 prioritizes soil protection and sustainable farming through the expansion of Good Agricultural Environmental Condition (GAEC) measures from 10.7% to 60% of agricultural land. A web-based Soil Erosion Calculator, developed by the Research Institute for Soil and Water Conservation (VUMOP), supports this goal by enabling farmers and advisors to assess soil protection practices using crop rotations, agronomic methods, and operation dates. The tool allows parcel-level mapping for compliance and is used by an average of 150 users monthly, with over 3,000 registered users. It supports regional Agricultural Knowledge and Information Systems (AKIS) and is integrated into the EU’s EIP-AGRI Agrilink project, which provides standardized practice abstracts accessible at: https://ec.europa.eu/eip/agriculture/en/find-connect/projects/agrilink-agricultural-knowledge-linking-farmers.
