Good Design: A Guide

These guides highlight what we have learnt from the implementation of the LIAISON project and from the data collection. The aim is to assist all those who wish to use them to improve interactive innovations in the fields of agriculture, forestry and rural development. LIAISON (Better Rural Innovation: Linking Actors, Instruments and Policies through Networks) is a multi-stakeholder project funded under the EIP Agri initiative, which was launched by the European Commission in 2012 with the aim of to promote competitive and sustainable agriculture and forestry that can ‘achieve more and better with less’. The guides provide a comprehensive overview of the interactive innovation approach, whereby community and other innovation stakeholders – namely farmers, advisers, researchers, businesses, non-governmental organisations, etc. – draw on each other’s complementary knowledge and experience to assess, gather, jointly develop and disseminate practical solutions that address the real needs of farmers and foresters. Innovations born of this interactive approach provide solutions that are well suited to the specific circumstances, thereby making their implementation easier.
