Detaljerad beskrivning
This study investigates the diversity of tree-based layouts and management practices in free-range pastures for Label Rouge and organic broiler poultry. A semi-structured survey of 98 farms across six French regions, covering 284 pastures, characterized site configurations, farmer practices, and marketing channels. Environmental assessments evaluated the impacts of tree planting on carbon storage, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity support, and landscape integration. Synthesis of these empirical data and environmental references led to concrete, context-specific recommendations designed to balance animal welfare, sustainable land management, and potential additional income for producers. These guidelines offer practical support for breeders and technicians.
