Detaljerad beskrivning

This paper presents ten technical mitigation measures, split into 26 sub-measures, to lower greenhouse gas emissions from French agriculture between 2010 and 2030. The proposed actions address nitrogen management, enhancement of carbon storage in soils and biomass, livestock diet optimization, and on-farm energy production and consumption. The study quantifies each sub-measure’s abatement potential and the cost borne by farmers under French conditions. One third of the potential comes from measures with negative technical costs due to input efficiency gains, a second third from moderate-cost measures (<€25 per tonne CO2e) partly offset by savings, and a final third from high-cost measures (>€25 per tonne CO2e) requiring investments or causing production losses.
