Water Footprint in Andalusian Organic Agriculture

The project develops a standardized, reliable irrigation management system for organic crops—strawberries, citrus, olives, and vegetables—in Andalusia, using ISO 14046-compliant water footprint assessment. Field sensors and ICTs collect real-time data, transmitted via web and mobile apps for decision support. The system enhances water efficiency, supports long-term sustainability for farmers and consumers, and provides market-recognized environmental indicators. Results can be extended to other crops and agri-food industries.
