Research and Innovation in the Ecophyto Plan: Synthetic Presentation of the Research Axis Scientific Programme

The document reviews the Ecophyto plan’s research axis, led by an expert group, which in 2011 defined eight thematic chapters addressing key strategic questions in plant protection: how to reduce reliance on pesticides, improve pest‐induced risk assessment, limit environmental impacts, support farmers’ transition, and anticipate future challenges. It explains how these priorities structured calls for research projects, resulting in nearly 200 funded initiatives with a budget of €48 million, and sets the stage for a reinforced research agenda under Ecophyto II starting in 2016.
