In 2025, three field demonstrations of an integrated late blight control strategy were conducted in Invergowrie (Scotland), Ploudaniel (France), and Bobrowniki (Poland). The strategy combined use of multiple resistant potato cultivars, sanitation practices, soil and crop management, and the Farmmaps BlightApp decision support system to optimize spray timing. Cultivars with higher resistance allowed delayed and fewer fungicide applications, resulting in reductions of 45% in France, 38–92% in Poland, and 92–100% in Scotland. Climatic conditions greatly influenced these outcomes, with dry weather enabling near-total fungicide elimination. This IPM approach enhances cost efficiency, sustainability, and aligns with goals to reduce chemical reliance.
