Description détaillée
In this study, S. Bellon analyzes the evolving interactions between organic farming (OF) and agroecology (AE) through three main sections. First, she outlines their historical trajectories and key milestones since the 1970s, showing shared roots and distinct developments. Second, an analytical grid of twelve criteria is applied to compare OF and AE in terms of principles, practices, and knowledge production, revealing that OF is more extensively documented while AE’s scientific literature is still emerging. Third, the paper examines conversion to OF as a model for agroecological transition and explores eco-functional intensification as a converging strategy. The study emphasizes their complementary strengths and potential to reshape agricultural and food systems globally.
