Description détaillée

The article presents findings from the AlterAvi experimental platform, designed to study sustainable organic poultry systems with access to grassland and tree-lined outdoor runs. Through electronic monitoring of broiler movements, the study shows that tree implantation increases run use and exploratory behavior. Trees also contribute to reduced environmental impact and improved zootechnical performance. Furthermore, outdoor runs may offer parasitism prevention via antiparasitic plants and serve as an additional feed source. The author emphasizes that effective run management and thoughtful landscaping are essential to fully realize these animal health and sustainability benefits.
