To help pig farmers and their employees recognize early on that an animal is sick, the State Institute for Pig Breeding (LSZ) offers them coaching as part of the EIP project "Pig Handling". They learn to better understand and classify animal signals - so they can counteract animal suffering more quickly. The training courses convey the latest scientific findings and use modern technology: an app uses thermal imaging and short films to clearly illustrate clinical pictures and helps to correctly interpret the first signs.
