Täpsem kirjeldus

This practice abstract presents the use of protected urea as a strategy to reduce greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions in grass-based farming systems.

Protected urea contains a urease inhibitor that reduces nitrogen losses and improves nitrogen use efficiency compared with conventional fertilisers. The practice can contribute to lower nitrous oxide and ammonia emissions while maintaining effective nitrogen supply for grass production.

In addition to environmental benefits, protected urea offers economic advantages through improved fertiliser efficiency and reduced nitrogen losses. Its flexibility of application throughout the year makes it a practical option for pasture-based livestock systems.
