Straw wreaths

In Poland, there is a significant potential in straw resources, including spring barley, winter barley, spring triticale, winter triticale, spring rye, winter rye, grain maize, oats, spring wheat, winter wheat, spring rapeseed, winter rapeseed, and rapeseed–turnip hybrids, which can be used for purposes other than feed. Straw contains lignin and cellulose, both of which can be transformed into valuable biodegradable materials. This abstract presents two chosen solutions for alternative management of straw residues: production of straw wraths and disposable drinking straws.
