Factsheet: Virtual fence
This factsheet explains how this technology allows sheep to graze in unfenced areas.
Detail description
It is hard to fence certain grazing areas due to the topography limiting the access. Fencing is a time consuming and costly job for the farmer and one main challenge in farming is access to graze good quality forage grazing areas that provides feed for ruminants.
This challenge can be helped through the use of the Nofence virtual fencing system. The Nofence virtual fencing system allows the farmer to plot a virtual fence using GPS positioning and trains the animal to turn around on audio.
The aim of this technology is to allow sheep to graze in unfenced areas.
