Current and future markets for sunflowers grown in France – Quality criteria

This article reviews the various uses of sunflowers grown in France (seeds, oil, oilseed meal) in both the food and non-food sectors, and outlines the prospects for the coming decades. This production meets quality criteria that are monitored, tracked and improved by professionals in the French oilseed sector. The results obtained when determining the parameters influencing oil content and the balance between oleic and linoleic acids are presented.
