Bibliometric analysis of global scientific publications on fruit and vegetables (F&V) during the period 2000–2009

Fruit and vegetables play a significant role in human nutrition and health. The aim of our study is to analyse scientific publications on fruit and vegetables available in the Web of Science (WoS) during the period 2000–2009 in order to gain a global insight into the main fruit and vegetable species studied, the research themes and the key players (countries and institutions). Collaborations between countries were analysed based on the co-authors’ addresses. We paid particular attention to Mediterranean countries and France. Significant differences were observed between countries, confirming the link between research topics and countries’ economic interests.
