Potential solutions and ideas to reduce farmers’ psychosocial risks
In agriculture, the intensity of work - time, workload - and the need to deal with uncertainties and hazards (climate, economic or social risks) creates psychological demands that lead to an imbalance between personal and professional life.
Detail description
In agriculture, the intensity of work - time, workload - and the need to deal with uncertainties and hazards (climate, economic or social risks) creates psychological demands that lead to an imbalance between personal and professional life. The lack of autonomy at work, limited room of manoeuvre to organise activities, poor social relations at work, conflict with personal and professional values and divergent views on professional ethics are also psychosocial risk (PSR) factors. It’s important to raise farmers’ awareness on this issue to fully consider this topic and change.
