Co-developing knowledge and tools for preventive and operational approaches to agroecological weed management: Part II. Design and evaluation of varietal ideotypes and cropping systems
Agronomic Innovations 110 (2026), 21–35
Detail description
The COPRAA project aimed to work with stakeholders on the ground to develop knowledge, tools and operational preventive management approaches for advisers and farmers, with a view to reconciling agricultural production, economic viability, biodiversity and the reduced use – or even complete avoidance – of herbicides in arable farming. Part I of this article presented the experiments conducted on the mechanisms involved in weed control and the digital tools developed. This section presents the field trials, simulations using the FLORSYS model and co-design workshops with advisers and farmers to evaluate and design cultivation techniques, varietal ideotypes and innovative cropping systems for the agroecological management of weeds.
