Decision support system for codling moth management using Fruitweb model

Weather-based codling moth forecasting for organic fruit farming with Fruitweb model

or

Detail description

The Fruitweb model predicts codling moth (Cydia pomonella) life cycle stages—egg-laying, hatching, and larval development (L1–L5)—using local weather, temperature, and day length data. It provides daily oviposition rates, fertile female flight activity, and larval distribution through color-coded visual outputs. Based on the Graf et al. (2018) model, it supports integrated pest management by enabling precise spray timing and reducing pesticide use in organic fruit systems. Hosted on the Biofruitnet platform, the tool offers real-time and forecasted insights for improved crop protection decisions.
