Poland Farm Safety and Health Needs Assessment
Farm health and safety priorities in Poland: education, healthcare access, and technology integration for sustainable agriculture
or
Detail description
Farm health and safety in Poland face systemic challenges including underreporting of accidents, limited access to healthcare, and gaps in safety education. The Safehabitus Community of Practice identifies key priorities: enhancing safety education across all levels, improving farmers’ health and well-being, and integrating modern technologies like precision agriculture and robotics. Data from GSO, ASIF, SIL, and NIOOM inform these efforts, with an 80% decline in farmer accidents attributed to risk monitoring and education, though underreporting remains a concern. The CoP, led by Safe Habitats and the University of Agriculture in Kraków, promotes generational habit changes, family and community involvement, and practical, rural-specific solutions. Recommendations include school-based safety courses, mental health training, and technology adoption, supported by EU funding and partnerships with institutions like Newcastle University and the BIOECONOMY Cluster.
