Finland - SafeHabitus Farm Safety and Health Workshop

SafeHabitus CoP in Finland focuses on farm safety, organisational practices, and mental health in agriculture. Key priorities include risk management in natural and Arctic environments, machinery safety, work schedules, staff recruitment, worker induction, protective gear, and bridging theory with practice. Findings align with Karttunen and Rautaitainen’s research (2009–2013) on Finnish dairy farmers’ work ability and injury prevalence. Funded by the EU, SafeHabitus collaborates with EASAC, AEIDL, and European universities to strengthen knowledge innovation systems and support social sustainability in farming.
