Full-spectrum lighting for broiler chicken welfare and productivity
Optimizing broiler welfare through full-spectrum, adjustable LED lighting with dawn-dusk simulation
or
Detail description
Broiler chickens benefit from full-spectrum LED lighting that mimics natural light cycles, improving welfare and productivity. The GalliSpec® system from Altuma provides flicker-free, adjustable lighting with dawn/dusk simulation, enhancing orientation, reducing stress, and promoting natural behaviour. Increased light around feed and water areas improves feed intake and distribution. UV-A, blue, green, and red wavelengths support visual differentiation and reduce cannibalism. Energy-efficient LEDs lower operating costs. For a 1,000 m² poultry house, installation costs €8,550. Expected benefits include improved feed conversion, lower mortality (especially before day 14), and stronger bone and muscle development. Farmers report increased activity and better mobility.
