Detail description

This report presents the findings of a survey conducted with 391 farmers across 13 European countries as part of the Soil-X-Change initiative. The survey explored farmers' knowledge, attitudes, experiences and future plans regarding sustainable soil management practices, providing insights into patterns and relationships that may inform policy, research and agricultural extension work. While the sample size and selection methodology do not support definitive claims about European agriculture as a whole, the patterns identified offer valuable exploratory insights that can guide more targeted investigation and support initiatives. With respondents representing diverse agricultural contexts, farm sizes, age groups and farming methods, the survey reveals patterns in sustainable soil management practice adoption and experience. The study was aiming to identify potential drivers and barriers to adoption, understand implementation experiences and explore the support mechanisms valued by participating farmers.
