Detail description
The study examines the agricultural structure in the Foodvalley region and surrounding municipalities, focusing on socio-economic characteristics, livestock trends, land use, and succession patterns. It reveals 2,000 agricultural enterprises, predominantly dairy and grazing livestock, with 75% of the 32,000 ha area dedicated to grassland. Livestock density per farm and hectare is below the national average. Family labour accounts for 80% of work, while organic farming represents 10% of businesses. Succession lags nationally, but youth entrepreneurship is slightly higher. Multifunctional agriculture is growing. Data derived from the CBS Agricultural Census.
