Pilots Akkerbouw en Veehouderij in vijf Kringlooplandbouwgebieden PAVEx-K
Pioneering circular farming across five Dutch regions through integrated crop-livestock systems and policy innovation
or
Detail description
The PAVE-X-K pilot project integrates crop and livestock farming across six regional pilots in five Dutch circular agriculture experiment zones—Ecala, Drenthe, Twi Kel, Achterhoek, Flevoland, and De Peel. Led by Wageningen University & Research for the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality (LNV), the initiative tests collaborative models such as land exchange and closed-loop systems to enhance resource cycling, biodiversity, and socio-economic sustainability. Using a five-phase approach—including KPI development, regulatory experimentation, and policy advice—the project evaluates circular farming feasibility, addresses policy barriers, and applies iterative feedback via the Deming cycle. Expert input from institutions like the National Livestock Association (NLV) supports monitoring and scientific validation.
