Preventing emissions from drain tanks and substrate containers during crop rotation

Treatment of drainage water and substrate containers during crop rotation to prevent the discharge of fertilisers and plant protection products into surface water. Emptying of drainage tanks, minimising sludge build-up, keeping residual water levels in tanks low, and treating residual water using approved systems. Reuse subject to conditions via de-mineralisation and purification. Attention must be paid to silos, distribution manifolds and the composition of recirculating water, including sodium and nitrogen concentrations.
