Siesta grazing for robotic milking and grass quality improvement

Optimising grazing time and milk production on a 35-hectare dairy farm with robotic milking

or

Detail description

Christian Swolfs, a Woudrichem-based farmer, manages a 35-hectare mixed farm with 60 dairy cows using a robotic milking system. He optimizes grazing through siesta-grazing with a selection gate, applying strip-grazing in spring and autumn and continuous grazing in summer. Grassland improvements include clover reseeding for nitrogen fixation and level-controlled drainage for drought resilience. The interview is available on YouTube.
